We continue our tour around the UK with another where would you find...? - this time in Scotland! Scotland is a land of beautiful vistas, amazing mountains, incredible waterways and so much to see and do that it was hard for me to narrow this down to 10 landmarks for you to find, but I've put together a list and now all you need to do is correctly identify where you can find them. Simple enough right? Good luck!
Many locations have been given a similar moniker to the Fairy Pools, but these have to be the most iconic and deserving of the name. This series of multiple waterfalls and swimmable plunge pools with crystal-clear waters is an incredible adventure. On which island would you find them?
Dunnottar Castle is a beautiful medieval fortress, sitting atop a rocky headland, it protected the Scottish crown jewels from Oliver Cromwell's invading army in the 17th century. Where is it?
Ben Nevis is Scotland's highest point, as well as the United Kingdom's highest point! This stunning mountain is a good hike, of course, there are multiple routes up the mountain, but from where would you most likely start?
The Forth Bridge is a cantilever railway bridge spanning the Firth of Forth - it is a stone's throw from the capital, but links together the two shorelines between Dalmeny station, and which other station?
Fort George is an 18th-century sizable fortress which sits on a peninsula just outside Ardersier - constructed following the Jacobite Rising of 1745, it has never been attacked, but there is still time as this is a still in-use garrison! On which firth does the peninsula sit?
The Falkirk Wheel is a mechanical marvel, a massive rotating boat lift which can be found in its namesake. This wheel has been ferrying boats 34 meters vertically since 2002, linking two canals together. There are no points for guessing that the Falkirk wheel is in Falkirk, but Which two canals does it link together?
Glenfinnan Viaduct is an iconic railway viaduct in the Scottish highlands, a beautiful site with a steam train puttering along the top. Seen in many a movie, and a hot spot for tourism, it spans the River Finnan, but to which loch less than a mile away does the river feed?
The Scott Monument is a beautiful gothic spire dedicated to Sir Walter Scott and constructed in 1840 in Princes Street Gardens. It has intricate details and would be at home attached to any cathedral, but where would you find it?
Culloden Battlefield is a National Trust for Scotland property where the Battle of Culloden took place - this was during the Jacobite Rising of 1745. Today, the site is a museum, a collection of memorials and cairns. The battle obviously took place in its namesake, but which city is Culloden just east of?
