Our Where Would You Find...? series returns, this time focusing on the beautiful land of dragons. Wales holds a dear place in my heart, a stunning collection of landscapes, coasts, mountains and history come together to make some of the most gorgeous places on these isles. But how well do you know them? We will start fairly soft, with 10 major landmarks around Wales for you to correctly identify "where would you find" them!
The Principality Stadium, AKA The Millennium Stadium, is a stadium that has played host to Rugby Union, Football and many major events. Constructed in 1999 to act as one of the 18 venues which would host the Rugby World Cup, it has been used time and time again to host incredible events including the FA Cup, League Cup and even the 2012 Summer Olympics. Where would you find it?
Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon) needs no introduction as the highest point in Wales, but this question is about the Rheilffordd yr Wyddfa, the narrow-gauge railway that can take you to the summit, but from which town would you get aboard to get to the top?
South Stack Lighthouse has sat alone atop a small rocky island since 1809, protecting passing ships from the dangers below. The approach to South Stack is mostly serene countryside, but it neighbours a major settlement, the destination of most of the passing ships, which town is it?
Penrhyn Castle & Garden is a beautiful National Trust property which has sat in its idyllic grounds in some form since as far back as the 15th century. Its multiple towers and climbing plants make for some beautiful scenes, with the landscape around it the perfect complement. Where would you find it?
Pontcysyllte Aqueduct is a marvel of the Industrial Age, built of cast iron to move narrowboats far above the River Dee along the canal. It is a great walk, the narrow pathway along one side providing incredible views to nervous walkers since 1805. Where would you find it?
Time to go from single landmarks to four: Craig Goch, Pen y Garreg Dam, Garreg Ddu and Caban Coch are the four dams which keep the water in which valley?
Powis Castle and Garden is another wonderful National Trust Property offering beautiful scenery to explore at a leisurely pace. This medieval fortress has stood since the 13th century, one of the few Marches defences constructed by the Welsh - where would you find it?
Portmeirion is a folly tourist town designed by Clough Williams-Ellis to mimic the Mediterranean feel. It has been used multiple times as a filming location too, most famously its appearance in the 1960's show The Prisoner. The town sits just a short way from a major Welsh town, but which one?
Llyn Tegid is Wales's largest natural lake, a beautiful long strip of water often used for watersports and fishing, complete with a narrow gauge railway running alongside, but which town sits at the head of these waters?
